July/August Newsletter – David

Hello everyone,

I hope you are doing well. I’m David McDermott and I would like to share what God has been doing in my life at CMTS as an Equip Student.

Mission Work/Vocation Work

We’ve had a lot going on the past two months but it’s been good. I’ve learned a lot even though it’s been tough. I’ve been working with Doug in the Detail Shop which is fun; right now we’re working on fixing a car that was in a crash.

We had our first mission trip at Circle K, which is a camp our church PGCC owns and uses for various Christ-centered things in the summer like baptisms, youth retreats, youth ministries, and Bible studies. While we were there we split and stacked wood, cut down a few trees, and did some maintenance. We also spent a lot of time with each other and bonded even more. We also had lessons on unity.

July-August Personal life

  • We moved in and it took some getting used to but we’re all settled in now
  • We went to Knoebels as an Equip group where we got to bond. Mainly Grace enjoyed my screams
  • Kai and I are getting along well and we’re slowly getting used to hanging out with each other
  • I’ve become friends with Grace and I am working on becoming friends with Kai and Emi
  • I have grown a lot spiritually
    • God has been showing me a lot and helping me through things I went through when I was younger
    • God is really growing me and helping me overcome things to help me be more like Christ, which is good. I desire to be like Him and asked Him to help me be more like Him
    • It’s really cool watching Him work and seeing how certain things happen that are exactly what needed to happen for me to grow
  • We also had plenty of fun going to a plant nursery and bowling
  • It’s been a lot of fun hanging out and talking with the others
  • I’m still getting used to living on my own and taking care of myself

Prayer Requests

  • I’m still working on getting financial support so I can pay the $4,500 I need for Equip
  • That I would be willing and have the strength wisdom and discernment to apply what I learn and continue to practice them after I learn them
  • That I would have the strength, wisdom, and discernment on how to handle my spiritual life and keep it healthy and growing
