Lapp Newsletter | July 2023

Hello Everyone,

I would like to start out by apologizing for how long it has been since our last newsletter. This year has been such a whirlwind with the Equip program ending its first year, right into preparing for the 23-24 school year. I’m super excited to say that we will have four guys for this next year’s program starting which is August 4th.

Kai, David, Grace, and Emi have all moved on to more in-depth training programs. It was amazing to get to see the growth and change over the course of the last year. Kai is starting a program with Youth With A Mission Monterrey in September, to do more to pursue discipleship and evangelism training. David has started a new job working at Dutch Valley where he will be putting the warehouse training he got this last year to the test. Emi moved back home and has a new job working with animals at a kennel. Grace went back to Missouri to her parent’s farm until she is ready to start college. Please pray that they will continue to grow in their faith and love for the Lord as they move on to this next stage of life.

Since my last newsletter, we went to Mexico, and Mayfield, Kentucky. Our trip to Mexico was really amazing. God showed up for us in so many ways. We did a few outreaches where we took school supplies, and clothing to churches that feed kids in low-income areas. We did a VBS-style lesson in one of the low-income areas and got totally destroyed during a soccer game. We handed out Bibles and did street evangelism gave haircuts to immigrants, and preached the gospel while we met their physical needs. It was such a good time loving people in Jesus’ name everywhere we went. I can easily say it was the best mission trip I have ever been on.

The trip to Kentucky was also a great way to use the skills that the students learned. They got to demo and paint homes for tornado victims. We also developed a lot of cool friendships with the church that hosted us in Kentucky, as well as some volunteers that are down there helping full-time.

I would also like to say thank you to everyone who supports us and allows us to be here, because it couldn’t happen without all your prayers and support. Please pray for our students Donovan, Caleb, Aidan, and Logan as well as our first international student Jessie, who will be here for 8 weeks of our Equip year. I ask you to pray that God would use CMTS and Equip to help them grow into young men that desire to serve the Lord and that they would seek Him diligently while they are here. Some prayer requests for Jenny and me are that I would grow as a leader, that I would rely on the Lord for all things, and follow Him boldly as I do life with these young men next year. We could also pray for Jenny as she does her best to support me here (through hospitality as well with lots of help planning). You can also pray for Jenny to be a witness at her job. She is a light shining in a dark place at her work, but this often calls for boldness and endurance. She would love to know you are praying for her in that. Thank you all again for all your support.

All God’s Blessings,

Nolan and Jenny Lapp
