Mission Work

February was a blast for the mission and at home. A lot of transitional work, but I see God moving in all of this!

As some of you know, Joel and I (and a lot of other staff members here) work at other ministries as well as our own. Here is a picture of Ace & Danielle during wacky night at our church’s childrens ministry program. We were each trying to be one color.

Joel and Nick went to St. Louis to be trained on how Righteous Rides wants their cars maintained and expectations. Here is a picture on the plane and their main shop in St.Louis. They both drove back one of the new vans needed for the new fleet of cars! Getting ready to be able to help missionaries with loaner cars again! Woooo!

We had our annual Banquet at the end of the month. The purpose of this Banquet is to invite new ministries and churches to learn about what we do at CMTS. It was a really great night, and while we had some audio difficulties, overall it was a great night. The theme of all the testimonies was “relationships”: the relationships built here with other ministries and how they feel welcomed and like they are family here. That made me almost cry….ok, it did a little. We love all the people we get to meet and support and help spur along to do God’s Kingdom work. To hear they view us like family is a blessing.

Prayer Requests
  • Staff: we are in need of a few positions filled, Chef being a major one.
  • Housing: to house the staff
  • Students: for the 2nd year of Equip

Home Life

Ace bought a car, got his permit, and is now learning to drive. A challenge we are running into with Ace driving is that he does not have full use of his left arm. He is independent and has a wonderful attitude about it, but turn signals are an issue and turning with only one arm is another. Luckily we have awesome people in our life that have similar challenges and are guiding us to where we can get special gear installed and he can drive safely. Although, he is a pretty good driver!

Ace asked for coconut ube ice cream for his birthday dessert. If you do not know what ube is, we didn’t either, we had to look it up. It is a purple potato of Asian descent. It is VERY purple and turned our mouths quite PURPLE! HA HA HA

Thankfully, Devin wanted something more simple, brownie ala mode!

We celebrated Valentine’s Day by making chocolate-covered strawberries with the kids and then any other fruit they could find. It all turned out REALLY yummy! And for family day we did laser tag and rollerskating.

Homeschool Corner

Homeschool co-op the kids are learning to cook now. They made alfredo noodles and chicken parm so far! They also had a Valentine’s Exchange. It was neat!

Peyton is taking a Critical Thinking Course this year, even I am stumped on some of these!

Kylie made an edible DNA model.

Jase just got into multiplication facts.

Parker watched a documentary on termites. Ewwwww. LOL

All 6 kids are learning Spanish. Kylie will be able to practice in real life soon, as she will be joining Joel on a mission trip to Mexico.

Prayer Requests

  • Support: We are still not fully supported and are actively raising support.
  • Housing: CMTS is looking into building more housing and one will be for us. We are living in a small apartment above the office currently. With 8 people, it can get a little tight! LOL
  • Homeschool: that is an ever going prayer
  • Guidance, wisdom, and discernment as God leads us as we lead the ministry.

Family Needs

Support

We are currently at $1,050 monthly and where we need to be is $3,570. It has been by the grace and provision by God that we are making it. We could really use your help. Prayers and awareness of this need to others is much appreciated!

Here is further breakdown in each category:

Retirement: We are saving up to retire one day and being a good steward with our time in the future.

Misc.: Savings for emergencies and medical expenses like braces and casts. Education and field trips. Fun days with the kids as a family out, date nights with Joel & I (Danielle), and saving each month for vacations.

Transportation: gas, car insurance, maintenance, and repairs.

Living expenses: electricity, propane, internet, cell phones, clothing, food, and household items.

God has answered our prayer! It might not be exactly what WE were praying for, but adds space. We have been able to combine the 3rd floor living space with our current house. This gives us so much more room! So very thankful!

Would you like to join our team? We need your help to continue to accomplish God’s vision for us at the ministry. Would you join us as a monthly supporter so we can continue the work God has started? We want to take you along for the journey and we would be honored to be able to share the experience with you. You would become part of the team and we would share how God is working and the impact it is having on His Kingdom. Please pray and ask God if you should join us.
