About Us

CMTS Ministries is dedicated to supplying and equipping missionaries and ministries across the globe. Since 1982, Christian Missionary Technical Services has worked behind the scenes to keep missionaries and other ministries operational, providing vehicles and mechanical support, technical equipment, and specialized supplies and services. CMTS is ready and willing to help you fulfill the Great Commission in your area of missionary work.

our history
Andy Nancy

CMTS was founded because Andrew Merrick was called by God to provide technical assistance to missionaries and Christian organizations. After spending time on the mission field and prior to that, being involved with organizations here in the United States, the Lord had laid this burden upon the hearts of Executive Director, Andrew J. Merrick and his wife Nancy. They have seen missionaries wasting their time with worn-out equipment and the need for better buildings in order to meet the spiritual and physical needs of their people. Having had these burdens laid upon them, they felt led to start this organization to help meet those needs, and also to train people to be aware of those needs. God began building CMTS ministries starting in 1982 in New Jersey. Since then God has blessed this ministry with 52 acres in Bernville, PA.

The Loaner Vehicle Program was an aspect of the ministry that Andy & Nancy did not plan, but God certainly had. For the last 40 years, CMTS was able to offer low-cost vehicle rentals for missionaries returning to the States on furlough. At one point, a Car Purchase Program was implemented but has since been discontinued. In January 2023, CMTS' Loaner Vehicle Program merged with Righteous Rides, a Christian non-profit vehicle ministry that shares a similar vision. Because of this merger, we are able to continue offering reliable, low-cost vehicle rentals to missionaries all around the world.

With this new shift in focus from maintaining a fleet for missionaries, the Automotive Shop manager Nick VanWert now has the opportunity to open doors to local ministries, pastors, and ministry leaders.

Warehouse

In 2016, we broke ground for the Warehouse, a place to house the many donations received. The building was finished in 2017, and the annual Open House was held to dedicate the building. In 2021, the Warehouse manager Justin Darnell started the task of organizing, shelving, and inventorying the donations. What was once held in multiple trailers placed all around the property soon found a place on a shelf, to then be shipped to an overseas missionary or used in a local ministry in the States. The ministry has been blessed with an abundance of donations in a way that can only be described as God-given.

Joel Smith was officially promoted from Assistant Director to Director of CMTS PA in December of 2021. He, his wife Danielle, and their 7 children have been serving at CMTS since June 2019. In addition to continuing the mission that the Merricks had established, they felt God calling them to disciple and train gap-year students in a 10-month program called Equip. This discipleship gap year program was launched in July 2022.

Andy & Nancy Merrick shifted focus to better establishing CMTS Belize, and now live there full-time.
