Mission Work

August was good. God is really moving at a fast pace lately.

We welcomed 4 new guy students to Equip this year, Logan, Aidan, Donnie, and Caleb. They bring a whole new energy to the campus, a good, fun energy! It has been great seeing the guys bond and form friendships.

We also added a new staff member! Sandra DaMore. She has filled the role of a former staff member and has been also given a little of a newly created role. Her official title is Hospitality & Outreach Coordinator.

We had a pastor visit from Kenya, Pastor Situma. He is gathering materials to ship another container to his Bible College. Justin has already started staging an empty container in the Warehouse with the items collected while Situma finishes raising money for shipping costs.

We shipped a 40′ sea container to Haiti at the end of August. We were able to raise money for bulk rice to FILL this container. It was amazing to see people just giving what they could to help feed these children in orphanages in Haiti. It was an overwhelming blessing. We also got to put clothes, chairs, office supplies, other kinds of food, and many other things in the container. We are praying to get another one going soon. This was the first time our Equip students got to help pack a container! Our students last year, unfortunately, did not get the chance.

The septic was completed! Woohoo! We had to take a chunk out of our savings to pay for it, but it was sorely needed.

In the last few days of August, the main house water pump stopped working, but luckily the guys got it going again. Now, we are prepping to redo our entire main house roof. It is in disarray. But the Lord has provided a team to help us redo the roof: our construction team from Costa Rica! God is so awesome! We just texted them to see if they would be willing and they didn’t even hesitate. They are going to be here for the last 2 weeks of September. We have had some BIG things that needed to be repaired or rebuilt this summer, but God just keeps providing! God is faithful and we feel His face beaming down on us like the sun. We serve an amazing, wonderful God.

Home Life

Ace got a job at Arby’s! It’s not his favorite job, as he would rather be working with horses or outdoor labor, but he has been a good sport about this and he is learning to find joy in all circumstances.

Peyton has been working doing landscaping and farm maintenance at his grandmother’s house. He is using the money to save up for a car.

We took our annual back-to-school family Knoebels trip and did a lot of rollercoasters together.

One of my favorite things is looking at the stars. God made so many amazing creations, but one of my favorites is all the stars. Every chance we get, we try to go to the mountains where there is little light pollution so we can see as many stars as we can! Plus the shooting stars! AMAZING! We got a weekend to go to northern Pennsylvania and see so many stars! It was so great. Plus life just feels like it moves just a little slower when you are in the mountains. Well, that may just be how I feel, but I love it.

Homeschool Corner

School has started! Here are the current grades:

  • Ace 11th grade
  • Peyton 9th grade
  • Kylie 8th grade
  • Jett 6th grade
  • Parker 5th grade
  • Jase 3rd grade

Science experiments are underway as well! Jett made a human cell from jello and candies. It fell apart a little as he cut it to put the different candies in to represent the different parts of the cell. Peyton learned how to use the microscope. Jase made a model solar system

Prayer Requests

  • Support: We are still not fully supported and are actively raising support.
  • Homeschool: that is an ever going prayer
  • Guidance, wisdom, and discernment as God leads us as we lead the ministry.

Family Needs

Support

We are currently at $1,750 monthly and where we need to be is $3,570. It has been by the grace and provision by God that we are making it. We could really use your help. Prayers and awareness of this need to others is much appreciated!

Here is further breakdown in each category:

Retirement: We are saving up to retire one day and being a good steward with our time in the future.

Misc.: Savings for emergencies and medical expenses like braces and casts. Education and field trips. Fun days with the kids as a family out, date nights with Joel & I (Danielle), and saving each month for vacations.

Transportation: gas, car insurance, maintenance, and repairs.

Living expenses: electricity, propane, internet, cell phones, clothing, food, and household items.

Would you like to join our team? We need your help to continue to accomplish God’s vision for us at the ministry. Would you join us as a monthly supporter so we can continue the work God has started? We want to take you along for the journey and we would be honored to be able to share the experience with you. You would become part of the team and we would share how God is working and the impact it is having on His Kingdom. Please pray and ask God if you should join us.
