June 2016 Newsletter

AT CMTS

Big news is the CMTS Open House on Saturday, July 16th from 11-4pm. Lunch is served from 11-1pm. Come out to see everything going on at CMTS. This year we will be showing all the progress on the warehouse building project! We will also have a car show from 11am-2pm. So many cool prizes! Anyone can show up and show their classic or specialty car.

Last month we talked about the 500 pieces of steel that had to be made and installed on the building. All the pieces have been cut to size, had holes drilled, and been painted. At this point most of the 500 pieces have been installed. Next is the installation of the insulation on the walls and ceiling, then screwing the metal walls and roofing over the insulation. Please pray for good weather in the next few weeks. In order to do this next part the insulation cannot get wet, and windy conditions could catch and tear or bend the materials. If you are interested in helping in any way, please contact the ministry and talk to Andy or Stephen.

From the end of July to the end of August, Andy is going to Belize to keep things moving at the center there. If you are interested in joining him, it would be an excellent opportunity to experience the trip without the added stress of a large group and traveling in a convoy. If interested, contact Andy for details. Please pray for Andy and anyone else who may go with him to Belize this summer.

Ministry Spotlight: Work Teams

When we think of CMTS in the summer, what comes to everyone’s mind first is Open House & Work Teams. Work teams are an excellent way for us to accomplish more for the kingdom and for people outside the ministry, to serve God. A team of 15 teens and leaders can help us accomplish more in one week than our normal staff could do in a month. Not only does this help us get more done, but its an incredible way for anyone to see the impact CMTS is making domestically & abroad.

Something that the leadership, at CMTS, is trying to develop is getting more people involved on the level of serving at the ministry regularly. Most missions organizations rely on the labor of outside individuals and teams to get there work done. If you are reading this, please consider coming and helping or developing a team to come out and help. Currently, our conventional mail newsletter reaches 4000 addresses. If 10% of that group came out once a year, we would have almost 2 people per workday coming out! We are not looking for everyone to become staff members, but we are looking for people to serve for focused short durations. Especially helping in their area of specialty.

And think outside the box! A work team doesn’t always have to be a large youth group over the summer. People from all age groups and backgrounds are welcome to come out any time of year for any duration. We even have team accommodations for overnight or lengthy stays. So please prayerfully consider coming and serving with us.
