Mission Work

Our roof project was 98% completed! We just have a little more flashing and soffit to finish! Almost there. We celebrated with Carne Asada made by Alfredo for a fancy outdoor picnic dinner.

We had our Staff Appreciation Dinner this month, we got to share impact the staff has had on other ministries, the students, and our community that lives at CMTS. Love getting to appreciate them all in a bigger way.

The donated building move was postponed for now, the truck that was going to haul the big equipment to the building to split and wrap it broke down, so we are waiting to hear back.

Jen Darnell, Hannah, and I went to a conference in Virginia. It is a counseling conference to help us be better equipped to come alongside our staff, students, and volunteers, and lend a compassionate ear to ministry leaders and missionaries that come through here.

Lastly, GA Missions Ministry will be a public short term mission trip. It’s a soft opening to reboot mission trips. We reached out to people that have expressed interest and helped in the past, and we have a really great crew of people. Almost all of them are not staff, which is great getting others involved in serving. The purpose of this trip is this ministry reached out for help in June. We had been praying about if God really wanted us to go there, and over the course of the past few months, He has made it pretty clear. We did not want to add more to our staff’s plates so we prayed and asked God to send us the crew. We got it! CMTS has a long history of doing these construction support trips and I am thrilled to be able to keep them going. This ministry is coming alongside the men, women, and youth in Glennville, GA and training and equipping them to be steadfast in their faith and go out and spread the Good News.

Did I ever mention how thankful I am for you all and for investing in Joel and I and our family to be able to do these awesome things? I Love what we do for Him and we cannot do it without you. Don’t get me wrong, I still have days where I am asking God if He can take anything off my plate, He usually lets me know. LOL But seriously, thank you.

Home Life

Devin graduated from a CNA program at a local nursing home. She loves to work with the elderly and just love them. She has a really great heart for helping and serving. Her boyfriend, Cam, surprised her with flowers. Cam has been dating Devin for about 6 months now. He has been respectful and kind towards us and treats Devin very well. My favorite part of what they are doing is, devotional time together as well as apart. They are working towards putting Christ first, even in their relationship. I love it.

We went for a family hike at the Kernsville Dam in Hamburg.

Jase lost a front tooth!

Joel and I spent a weekend alone, we went kayaking and hiking. It was beautiful weather and the trees were awesome shades of red, yellow, and orange. The kids got a weekend with their grandparents and they went to a corn maze!

Homeschool Corner

It has been great being able to focus on school work for the mornings again. It helps them, and myself, to focus on this.

Jett has been learning about human anatomy and had to make a digestion theme park as part of his science. He is so creative! It is called “Digest It Park”. He made an apple stand to eat something, then you go to the “Chewer of Doom” then to the “Stomach Spinner”, then the last ride is the “Rectum Coaster” and you have to leave the park after that! LOL

Upcoming Mission Trips

Georgia, USA

December 10th-17th 2023. 18 of us are traveling to Glennville, GA. It is such a blessing to be able to travel and serve as a family. Both of us (Joel & Danielle) will be leading this team and 6 of our children are coming with. We will be serving another ministry by helping them complete a missions home. The ministry we are serving is called GA Missions Ministry. They have been around for 30 years and have been building this building for 7 years. We feel called to go and help get this done! Please pray for the team as we have a 12 hour drive down and back.

Monterrey, Mexico

April 2nd-April 10th. Around 10 of us (including the students, Danielle/Joel and Ace/Peyton) will be embarking on an adventure to Monterrey to spread the love of Jesus. This trip has been so impactful in the past, and we pray for God to move again on this trip. We have the opportunity to serve the community in the city through local churches street outreach, feeding programs, kids programs, Bible handouts, and more. Please pray for God to open the hearts of the people we meet, for boldness as we share and for the gift of language as they speak a different language than us.

How can I help?

Please pray for each team as we prepare now for each trip. Our family needs to raise additional funds to be able to pay our airline tickets and to cover other costs of the trip. Because of us taking 6 kids on one trip and 2 on another this raises our costs (of course). We need to raise $3000. We feel strongly that this is the best way for us to train them for a lifetime of serving Jesus and others. Praise God for for these opportunities!!

Prayer Requests

  • Support: We are still not fully supported and are actively raising support.
  • Homeschool: that is an ever going prayer
  • Guidance, wisdom, and discernment as God leads us as we lead the ministry.
  • We had some unexpected vehicle repair costs this past month, totaling $1200. This included both of our family vehicles. We are praying for the funds to help us pay for these repairs.

Family Needs

Support

We are currently at $1,750 monthly and where we need to be is $3,570. It has been by the grace and provision by God that we are making it. We could really use your help. Prayers and awareness of this need to others is much appreciated!

Here is further breakdown in each category:

Retirement: We are saving up to retire one day and being a good steward with our time in the future.

Misc.: Savings for emergencies and medical expenses like braces and casts. Education and field trips. Fun days with the kids as a family out, date nights with Joel & I (Danielle), and saving each month for vacations.

Transportation: gas, car insurance, maintenance, and repairs.

Living expenses: electricity, propane, internet, cell phones, clothing, food, and household items.

Would you like to join our team? We need your help to continue to accomplish God’s vision for us at the ministry. Would you join us as a monthly supporter so we can continue the work God has started? We want to take you along for the journey and we would be honored to be able to share the experience with you. You would become part of the team and we would share how God is working and the impact it is having on His Kingdom. Please pray and ask God if you should join us.
