About Me

Hello, my name is Isaac Harris. I’m eighteen years old and I arrived at CMTS Ministries to begin the Equip program last Friday. Hopefully, this literary masterpiece will allow you to get to know me and where I come from.

I was born and raised in Port Moody, British Columbia. I have two older sisters (hi Sydney and Moriah) and two great parents (hi mom and dad) who taught us to fear God.

Being raised in a Christian home I grew up going to church and youth group every week but I never made my relationship with God a priority, preferring to spend my time playing video games and hanging out with friends.  Last Christmas I received a 2024 YWAM personal prayer diary daily planner from my family which inspired me to take my faith more seriously. I didn’t realize how much of a challenge this would be. I found myself regularly battling myself to do my devotions. One day I would do them, and the next I couldn’t bring myself to it. It was like Paul said in Romans 7:15 “I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.”

I’ve come to realize in recent years that God has a perfectly formulated plan for my life and that to do anything other than strive to follow it is meaningless. I don’t yet know what God’s plan for me is, but I’m praying that He’ll show me sometime in the near future.

While at CMTS, I aim to first and foremost focus on my relationship with Jesus. I also hope to do a bunch of manual labour in order to “build character,” and learn skills that I can use for the rest of my life. During my first week here, I’ve experienced the kindness of all of the staff here and seen some of the work they do and sacrifices they make without expecting anything in return.

Some of my hobbies include wrenching on rust buckets, working out, lowballing people on facebook marketplace, and playing basketball.

Thanks to my family for supporting me, the CMTS staff for all that they do, and God for being good all of the time.

Godspeed,

Isaac Harris
