Mission Work

This month we got the opportunity to go to Mexico. We are so grateful for all who contributed! It was such a blessing. (More below) We also got to announce that we are starting up public mission trips again! We are going to try to keep them more consistent, but also going with a purpose, not just going to go somewhere. Our next trip is to Dryden, Canada! While Joel and I were in Costa Rica last June, we met so many people there and God is just bringing more and more connections from that trip! Thank you for helping us go to Costa Rica as well!

Brandon came from Canada to Costa Rica to help build the Homes of Hope houses with us. We found out that he is starting a ministry to teach trades to young adults too. He sees the need and sees so many ministries falling apart, so he wants to train young adults spiritually as well as with construction/ maintenance work to help these other ministries that are in desperate need of help. This is a brand new ministry base that needs help building housing for staff, so we get to go up there and help him build housing and spur each other on for more good works! We will also get the opportunity to visit the local towns and pray for people and just experience their culture. What I love about doing this is that we get to touch more on our mission statement. “Our mission is to inspire God’s people through exposure to missions, equip those who ARE serving God so they can be even more effective, and glorify God by joyfully making disciples.” We get to inspire more into missions and serving. I love to serve, I love seeing others grow in their desire to serve and make Jesus known. By being the hands and feet of Jesus, He gets the glory and He is made known.

Keep praying for us as we continue plans for Canada and keep going with what God has called us to. We are so blessed to be a part of this job. 

Please also keep us in your prayers as Hannah Noecker is taking over more office and admin responsibilities for the ministry and we are in need of some front-office help for her. If you know of anyone that would be great for this job, let us know! We are always open to interviewing people we have not met yet! LOL

Mexico Mission Trip

It’s always hard to put into words what was done on a mission trip. It was really amazing and getting to see how hungry people were for the Word, was just inspiring. Not knowing much Spanish was a little challenging, but I am so thankful for interpreters and that hugs and emotions do not always need words.

What was done, was serving. We played soccer with kids in a neighborhood where the cartel comes in and starts giving them jobs at 10-12 years old. They are using soccer to share the gospel to them and help them find other ways to make money for their family or help their family where they can.

We did skits on faith, crafts, and lots of kids’ ministry. We prayed for people in a neighborhood where their houses were made out pallets and trash. We helped hand out food and helped with a church service. Testimonies were shared, so many prayers in Spanish and English. We got to see the impact the rehab ministry is having on people’s lives: taking them out of the darkness and showing them the light. They were so joyful that we had come to celebrate with them at the rehab, that they started dancing!

We got to help move buckets of concrete mix and cinder blocks up to a 2nd level of a church that is growing!  We handed out Bibles and prayed with people in a neighborhood that YWAM Monterrey is just starting to reach. We gave Bibles and food to people that were waiting outside the hospital for their loved ones. Some wait there for days or weeks, living outside, just to take care of their family members. There are no nurses for bedside care in Monterrey. The families must do it and they are not allowed to stay inside the hospital. So, they live outside the hospital. We prayed for some as the wept as they got bad news and prayed with others that were there for more simple procedures.

It was so amazing to see God moving so much there. It was great to see the impact He was having on their lives and they were joyful with so little.  

Home Life

Jase turned 9 this month! He asked for a chocolate cake with peanut butter icing. This is also one of Joel’s favorite cakes and his mom still makes it for him every birthday! LOL 

We also found out the Honda Accord we were going to purchase as our new car had too much wrong with it. We are now looking for another option. 

My mom (Mum Mum to our kids) sold Peyton her old car, but he does not turn 16 until November, we have been borrowing that for now. Peyton has been very gracious. It does need a little work, but he got it for a steal.

I was super proud of Kylie! We do our best to screen the books that all of our kids read, Kylie will read at least 100 books a school year. I am struggling to keep ahead of her. We have started looking into “Common Sense Media” and other Christian review sites for books Kylie is into. 99% of the time we do not hit a snag, but while I was in Mexico, Kylie texted me that her book got inappropriate. She said she closed her book immediately and put it back into her book bag. We had gone over what to do if you happen to see something inappropriate on TV or in a book and she followed it beautifully. When I got back home I looked in her book to see what she was talking about and I also had to shut the book immediately. It was sad, she was disappointed to read a good book and they had to ruin it. She asked if she could burn the book and its sequel, I said absolutely! And so we did. Proud Mama moment! 

Homeschool Corner

We did our standardized testing this month. Not my favorite part, but they got it done pretty quickly and did well! The kids have wrapped up a lot of school this month, there are just a few things to get caught up on for each one. Almost a wrap for the year! 

We also had our last co-op for the school year. Our video for our Industrial Revolution History Project turned out really good, but then everyone did! It was neat, they watched them all together and had popcorn. For science they got to dissect owl pellets and see the bones of the animals the owls had eaten.

Prayer Requests

• Support: We are still not fully supported and are actively raising support.
• Homeschool: that is an ever going prayer
• Guidance, wisdom, and discernment as God leads us as we lead the ministry.
• Our smaller family car had the engine blow a piston rod, we need a whole engine repair or replacement. Prayer for finding an engine that is low in miles and affordable and funds to pay for this repair.

This covers what we need to live each month as this is our only income. It has been by the grace and provision of God that we are making it. We could really use your help.
