Hello everyone, November is over, meaning the first semester of Equip is almost over! It’s gone by pretty quick, as most things do, but I’ve learned and grown a lot, and am looking forward to the second half. I spent the first half of the month with Doug, our autobody specialist. We finished repairing the Honda Rustyssey™, the repair of which you can find detailed in my previous newsletter. We also worked on an old Chevy with a utility bed which was severely rusted. I disassembled the bed and removed some rust. New steel plate will be secured and the truck will be sent to Belize. The following week, we sent out two forty-foot containers, one to Belize, and one to Ghana. To Belize, we sent tools, clothes, cleaning supplies, equipment, and many semi tires. To Ghana, we sent an offroad forklift, a car, mattresses, and many other supplies. I spent the rest of the month helping in and around the warehouse as Nick, our auto shop manager was on vacation.
Fr our adventure trip this month we went to Philadelphia where we went to Independence Hall, and went on a tour of Eastern State Penitentiary, which was built in the early 1800s and looks like a castle. We then got cheesesteaks, which I’d never had, before attending the Saturday night service at Ephrata Church which was on spiritual warfare. We were able to volunteer at the Independent Church In India fundraiser banquet at Pine Grove, where we helped with set up, serving food, and tear down. They were able to shatter their fundraising goal, which went toward buying motorcycles for the pastors in India! We also helped pack Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes at Ray and Debbie’s church, and we (the church) were able to send over 600 boxes! The boys and I harvested a Honda GX240 motor from an old concrete mixer, and we are working on fitting it to our go-cart! Aidan and I went with Sam to his cousins’ house for Thanksgiving. We missed the gym too much over the break, so we went to Dick’s Sporting Goods and got a good workout in.
We are still working through the Old Testament in Foundations class with Pastor John, where we are learning about covenants and the nature of God’s law. In our Crazy Love class, we are continuing to learn more about growing deeper in our relationship and love with Jesus, and how to live lives that glorify Him. We had our last class with Kyle, on the relevance of Genesis. We read The Lie: Evolution/Millions of Years by Ken Ham, watched a couple of documentaries on evidence for Genesis, and discussed modern issues in light of these things.
Please pray for me to know God in a more real way and that He will guide me in my next stage of life.
