Mission Work

This month marks 6 years at CMTS for the Smith Family! It feels like we have been here so many more than 6, but it also is a great job and place to live. We do not regret making the choice to go into full time ministry. This has been one of the most fulfilling things we have done, ever!!

We went on our annual staff retreat this month! What an amazing time of rebonding with staff members, relaxing and resting, as well as worshipping our Lord and fellowshipping with our team. They all work so hard throughout the year, this rest week is so needed.

As many of you know we have been praying for guidance if we should be building a 2nd location in the States to be able to get supplies, labor, and mechanical help across the border to help the ministries we already work with in Mexico. We have been praying that if God wanted us to do this, He would provide a way. It seems He has. This property became an option because of a connection made with another ministry while the Equip staff was in Mexico on a mission trip. It was a God coincidence and a very fruitful one. Joel and I went down in April to meet this ministry and it was amazing! Paulina, who gave us the tour of Reynosa and what they are doing in that city, called Joel and said she feels God is saying this property is for us. Joel and I prayed about it, got more information, looked up the area and the property on Google, and prayed some more. Joel and I felt God was telling us to go back down and look at the property and talk about financing etc. The terms so far seem good, but we are waiting until we can go down again to look at it in person and pray over the buildings. Unfortunately, I cannot join Joel this time, but in August he will be going back down to do that!

Pray for guidance, wisdom, and favor with all involved IF this is the property God wants us to have and the community to be in.

An additional prayer would be if this is the property, that God would provide finances and staff! We are looking to train them here in PA, but we would LOVE for the majority to be from the area. They understand the culture of the area and already will have great churches they are in and attend!

Home Life

We celebrated Joel’s 44th Birthday! We went to a small town up north, just us, for a weekend away. It is always great getting time away with just him.

We went on our annual “Before Summer Vacation” trip! We stayed at a campground that had an awesome pool, a lot of hiking trails, and we played a lot of board games! I love having this time with the kids to focus on just them.

Homeschool Corner

We had our evaluations this month and everyone passed to the next grade! We celebrated with ice cream at Plum Creek. I will be focusing on the fundraiser coming up in July and then back to preparing for the next school year!

Jase & Parker wanted to try out soccer this coming fall and we found out our school district had a soccer camp this summer! We signed them both up for it and they loved it! They both asked to play in the fall. We normally do not do sports because of the schedule conflicts with church programs during the week, but after meeting the coaches and discovering how focused they are on family time and church, we feel confident moving forward with Club Soccer. The schedule is a little more laid back.

• Shipping: We have many shipping containers going out soon full of supplies to help ministries share the gospel around the world!
• Staff: We are in need of another front office staff member and another mechanic to meet our growing needs in those areas.

This covers what we need to live each month as this is our only income. It has been by the grace and provision of God that we are making it. We could really use your help.
