Smith Family Newsletter | April 2025

Mission Work

For Easter our partner ministry, One Luv, did an outreach event in the middle of Reading, PA. We got the honor of helping them that day as a family (well, without Devin & Cam, so almost complete! LOL). It was a great day of sharing the Gospel, praying for people, and then having fun with the community.

Our Equip students and a few staff members went to Mexico! There they got to build a house for a family and then also do outreach ministry with Compassion Ministry! Going down to Monterrey every year has been so wonderful for the continued relationships and seeing the impact made each year!

There are a few positions that are really needed here at the ministry. In the Auto Shop with Nick (specifically a diesel mechanic), Front Desk to work with Hannah, drivers to do pick ups and drop offs for Justin in the warehouse. All these areas are in need, so if you know of anyone that would love to do this, send them our way! This is to add to our current staff; the needs are increasing and we want to be able to meet those needs.

Joel and I (Danielle) were in South Texas this month. We spent a week down there, talking with more pastors and following up with a few relationships we had already made. We had the opportunity to help serve the church that welcomed us so much from the beginning by prepping Bibles for an outreach they were getting ready to do. Some of these Bibles were also being handed out to other ministries to do the same. I really love when multiple ministries and churches can come together and work together. It really is beautiful and something Joel and I are very passionate about. We are all ONE BIG BODY of Christ and we get the honor to meet so many brothers and sisters in Christ frequently, it really just warms my heart! We also got to meet another ministry that is in Reynosa, that is right across the border of McAllen into Mexico. We were not the first to meet them, our Equip crew met them while in Monterrey and they wanted to meet us and we wanted to meet them and we got the chance 2 weeks later! So we got to cross the border on foot, that was so neat! And Pauline picked us up and showed us what they were doing and they were planting churches and doing VBS and they had a refuge center. It was so amazing!

Home Life

Ace had his graduation party to celebrate with family and friends his accomplishment of completing high school! He posed with friends and family in his cap & gown to get the traditional graduation photos. It was a good day. He had friend-only time afterwards and they all did fun things.

Jase turned 10 on April 1st! He wanted sausage, egg, & cheese bagel sandwiches for breakfast, mac & cheese for lunch, homemade chicken noodle soup for dinner, and chocolate cake with peanut butter icing for dessert!

We celebrated Easter with both sides of grandparents on different days. Joel’s side we had an awesome dinner and played games and caught up! My side, my mom loves to do an easter egg hunt, then we ate yummy food and Jase found the golden egg!

Kylie’s Final History Project, The Colosseum!

Peyton’s Final Literature Project, Poetry! He even had to write his own poem after this! LOL

Homeschool Corner

We are in the last full month of school work! At the end of April, most subjects will be completed for most children, and then all that’s left will be what they need to finish if they were behind on anything this year.

This month is difficult to focus on schoolwork, all the kids, myself included, just want to be done and enjoy the sunshine and free time from the schedule!

Jett is checking the buoyancy of air and oil in balloons.

Kylie is doing her final dissection, the frog!

Upcoming Mission Trips

Monterrey, Mexico

July 5-12, 2025 We are taking a team of skilled and unskilled people to Mexico. We will be helping to build onto a men’s rehab facility, evangelize, encourage the ministries we work alongside, and anything else that God leads us too. We will also be praying with the community and doing kids’ ministry. *This has changed as we felt God pushing us in this direction. Both are very big needs, but we felt this was a bigger push as to what we should be doing for this trip. We have worked with Pastor Adrian for many years now and love seeing these guys come to Jesus and be set free from their bondage of sin. So, so, so neat!

Montego Bay, Jamaica

September 14 – 20, 2025. We are joining another ministry called Global Hope International to serve the Montego Bay Area in Jamaica. Their team will be doing medical missions and we will have a day with them praying for the patients and learning how that part of the mission works. Our group will be focusing on a school for the deaf. They need some repairs and some fencing completed at the school. We will be forging relationships with the students and staff at the school as well! We are looking for skilled workers and also people who can pray with, play with, and add some extra joy to the lives of the people at the school.

Prayer Requests

  • Support: We are still not fully supported and are actively raising support.
  • Homeschool: that is an ever going prayer
  • Guidance, wisdom, and discernment as God leads us as we lead the ministry.

Ministry Prayer Requests

  • Mission Trips: Prayer for getting connected with people to match needs for teams
  • Shipping: We have many shipping containers going out soon full of supplies to help ministries share the gospel around the world!
  • Staff: We are in need of another front office staff member and another mechanic to meet our growing needs in those areas.

Family Needs

Support

We are very grateful for the team of supporters we have. Thank you! We are currently at $2,300 monthly and where we need to be is $4,000. This covers what we need to live each month as this is our only income. It has been by the grace and provision of God that we are making it. We could really use your help. Prayers and awareness of this need to others is much appreciated!

Would you like to join our team? We need your help to continue to accomplish God’s vision for us at the ministry. Would you join us as a monthly supporter so we can continue the work God has started? We want to take you along for the journey and we would be honored to be able to share the experience with you. You would become part of the team and we would share how God is working and the impact it is having on His Kingdom. Please pray and ask God if you should join us.
