Donovan’s Diaries | Issue 20 | October-November | 2025

Howdy,

Well for once not only am I prepared but I am on time (I am bound to forget something HUGE in this newsletter). From personal life changes, to more adventures, work updates and more this month has been one I will not forget for a while. So praise God and let’s get into it.

Work Life

I realize I haven’t talked much about the Equip classes I have been taking with the guys so I figured I will take some time to share what we are going through! We went through a study on Ephesians with a focus on our identity and a book on apologetics. Now we are working through two Francis Chan books Multiply and Crazy Love, plus a book about creation by Ken Ham. All but one of these books are the same from my year, but I really have gotten something out of doing these classes again and I am grateful for what God has been showing me. Aside from those we have also been taking a class with a local church on Monday nights about how to have a relationship with God in everyday life. As much as I have enjoyed it, my favorite part has been seeing the students grow in knowledge and participation.

Adventures

October 17th, Nolan, Jenny, the students, and I went to Knoebels! Growing up with health issues I always had problems with rollercoasters so it was a blessing to see another area of healing from God in being able to do rides with everyone. October 18th, Hannah and I had tickets to a football game in Syracuse! On the way up we stopped and had lunch with my former roommate Caleb of Caleb’s Chronicles! All in all, great drive, great game, great company, it was just great! We had a staff appreciation dinner which was a good time– community with neighbors and volunteers is one of my favorite parts about being here! November 7th, we had a Thanksgiving breakfast with our staff, potluck style everyone brings something to share. Another example of good community and good food, plus giving thanks to God for all that we have!

Personal Life

This has been a wild month for me personally. Finally listed my car, plenty of date nights, legally changing my name, plus some things you’ll just have to wait and see about. The thing that probably stands out the most is my name change. I have legally changed my name to Donovan Allen James Ulrich. There are a few reasons for this, however, the main one being to keep my grandfather’s name and my mothers maiden name continuing. The other point I would like to make is that this is not a dig or an attack on anybody with my previous last name nor any other familial name I could have taken. This was a choice that was put on my heart, something noble to stand for, and God put it on someone’s heart to fully fund me through that process of changing my name. If anyone has more questions you are more than welcome to ask.

Now that we handled that, I have my car listed on Facebook marketplace and I am accepting offers on it, as well as praying it will sell to the right person at the right time.

Warehouse

It seems like there has been a lot more Tetris playing in the warehouse than normal, putting stuff from the floor to the shelf, back to the floor, all for it to end up in a box truck or somebody’s trunk. However, with that, we have a cleaner warehouse, rack space, floor space, and we have been serving ministries at a high level. We got another donation from a local warehouse of 12 pallets on Monday or Tuesday of this week. No matter how much we give, we still have not been able to out-give God! Some of our recent projects have been going to Berky and picking up some materials for more upcoming projects, tearing apart a camper, clearing off our dock almost completely, and plenty more!

Praises
  • Praise for my name change
  • Praise that my car is listed
  • Praise for the community
  • Praise for healing
Requests
Thank You!

Well y’all have successfully read another one of these rants, so thank you for listening and supporting me. If you have any questions feel free to ask, I love talking about what I do generally and in depth! Have a good week and an early happy Thanksgiving, see y’all in a month!

Until Next Time,

Donny
