Howdy,
Definitely a little late on this one, but that just means there is more to write about! So much has happened since my last newsletter in November. Rec days, Thanksgiving, my birthday, christmas break, New years, and Hannah and I got engaged!
Personal Life
December 15th I turned 21, most of that week I spent going over to friends houses and seeing the most important people in my life. However that Wednesday, December 17th, I stayed in preparing to propose to Hannah while Danielle took her out to dinner. Aidan and I cleaned up the house a little, set out some candles. That night Hannah and I got engaged! Wedding invitations are being sent out shortly. For the wedding itself, we are doing a small ceremony with family and close friends, and then later on in the year we will have a second ceremony, more of a celebration where more people will be invited to come and celebrate with us!
Thanksgiving and Christmas were both very fun, getting to spend time with family, both mine and Hannah’s, while also getting time to simply rest which is not something I do enough. I felt very blessed this year with family and the things I got from different people. Super blessed by gifts and being home for Christmas this year. Last year being in Mexico was good, but I am very glad to be with the people I care about most!
Work Life
November 21st, Aidan and I went with Ray Pete, one of our maintenance staff, to pick up and deliver Operation Christmas Child boxes. I always enjoy working with OCC, so when we got the opportunity to help, we made it happen. In the warehouse there have been a lot of runs with the box truck, sending out but also receiving, and it seems like a losing battle to keep it clean and organized, but we are making strides. We have worked a lot with OneLuv over the last few months which has made up for a lot of the running, keeping us busy but seeing product move is always good. Especially when you know where the product is going!
On the Equip side of things I have been doing a bit of the marketing, especially with Homes of Hope. We are trying to raise $12,000 to build a house for a family in poverty during our Mexico trip in February. I really enjoy writing and marketing so that is exciting for me to work on, especially something I have experienced and care about so much. Our students left for break on December 13th and they will be returning in a few days back to work on January 5th!
