April 2024 at CMTS Ministries

“Set your mind on things that are above, not on things that are on earth” Colossians 3:2

Equip Update

Our four Equip students, Aidan, Donny, Caleb, and Logan leave for Mexico on April 2nd with Nolan & Jenny Lapp, Joel, Danielle, & Ace Smith, Justin Darnell, and Sandra DaMore. They will spend 10 days in Monterrey, Mexico, evangelizing and serving alongside the YWAM base there. Please pray that this trip is effective in saving souls for Christ and that the students’ lives will be changed by how they see God moving.

This month, 4 students and 8 staff went to Mexico for the final Equip mission trip. Each person returned with amazing stories of how God moved during their time with YWAM Monterrey, Pastor Oziel, and Pastor Adrian. The students will each share about the trip in their newsletter, so be sure to check the website for their testimonies. Here’s an excerpt from Aidan: “Sunday was one of the coolest days in my opinion. We went to church and it was a really interesting time of worship and prayer. After the service, an older lady approached me and told me she would be praying for my back (for context I pulled a muscle in my back at the beginning of the trip and re-injured it playing soccer). Before I knew what was happening, she was praying for my back. When she finished I stood up, and no more pain. The Holy Spirit had worked in an incredible way to heal me. I was dumbfounded by that. During Sunday evening, we were able to return to the men’s rehab center for another church service. During that time, I felt called to speak and the Holy Spirit once again worked in an awesome way. Being at the rehab center and just praying and worshiping with the men there was such a blessing.”

There will be one more Open House on Saturday, May 25th, before the new Equip year. If you know someone who is graduating, direct them to the Equip page on the CMTS Ministries website! We would love to answer any questions.

Around the Ministry in Bernville, PA

Nick VanWert and Sam Adams continued working on vehicles for the staff and ministry, as well as outside work for pastors and other ministries. We are encouraged to see how the Automotive Shops have had a positive impact for Christ on the people around us. This summer, Nick will be joined by Caleb, who is returning for E2, a second year of Equip in which students further develop skills in leadership and a trad of their choice. Doug & Hilda Sylva’s time in Holland was fruitful and encouraging. They were able to reconnect with churches and family members. Please continue to pray for their influence to grow in Holland.

The Warehouse received a donation of approximately 3,000 Bibles that will be used by One Luv in their outreach each week. We also brought 10 suitcases weighing 50lbs each full of soap, Bibles, clothes, and other hygiene to Mexico to be given out during ministry in various applications and venues. Aidan will be returning for E2 and plans to serve in the Warehouse alongside Justin Darnell, John Debkowski, and our volunteers.

Some projects around campus have been placed on hold as Leam Nicholaides works with the township to restore the relationship there. The apartments above the automotive shop are most relevant, and we would all greatly appreciate prayer for it.

Sandra DaMore will be prepping the ministry for 5 work groups coming this summer. We are excited to have an influx of volunteers willing to serve even for a day. If you’re interested in getting involved at CMTS, our website has information including a form for you to fill out so that we can find the right fit for you.

Belize

Nancy Merrick’s hip surgery went well and she is recovering well. Please continue to pray for her as she heals! “As I journey through my hip replacement surgery and recovery I have been covered by the prayers of many people and it is such a blessing. I am now one-week post-op and every day I gain more strength and mobility in my right leg… I am praising the Lord for all the people who have come around my husband in Belize. We talk regularly and he is certainly keeping busy. I am sure there will be surprises for me when I return! Today, Andy reported that Rosevelt was not feeling well. So please lift him up in prayer for restoration to health.”
