Where to start uhhhhh

Colorado

We as a group went to Colorado in early September to a YWAM base in the middle of the mountains for a week. The environment was fascinating, the mountains surrounding you and all the wildlife everywhere. We stacked about four cords of wood for the base to use throughout the winter. What would have taken them 3 months of work took us a day and a half. We climbed a mountain on the last day to an elevation of about 12,500 feet, which scared me to death but it was fun to get above the treeline and see all the snowcapped mountains. One thing about mountains is once you get that high up the wind starts to sound like the ocean, so that’s pretty cool. Enough about the mountain, while we were there we were a help to all the folk that lived there full time. Most of them are 40+ so they really appreciated our youthfulness.   

Current Vocation

Right now I am in the body shop with Doug, (Doug is cool and from Hawaii). We are currently working on my buddy’s (who is a missionary here at CMTS) Audi A4. His fender was a little bent and broken so we found a new one on Facebook marketplace and slapped that bad boy on there. We had to do some body work on it though, it needed to be sanded down and painted so that’s what we’re in the process of doing today. The body shop teaches patience, whether that’s waiting ten minutes to do another coat of paint or sanding the same spot for 15 minutes. I think it’s really cool to see the process come alive every day little by little and know “I did that”. It’s tedious but I know it’s worth it. 

Dorm Life

I like the guys that I live with, Robbie and Malakai are pretty chill dudes, and we get along pretty well. Sometimes we have issues here and there but that’s bound to happen when you put a bunch of 18 year olds together, but we find ways to resolve our disputes. Also I’m basically full time chef in the dorm, so that’s pretty neat. Overall I don’t have too much to say about the dorm life,  but hey it is what it is ya know?
