CMTS Belize | November 2024

Hello everyone! Andy and I are recovering very nicely from our recent surgeries. We were supposed to fly back to Belize on Sunday, November 17th, but tropical storm Sara is causing trouble for Central America. Last night, Southwest gave us the option of moving our flight without fees to avoid the storm. Our new departure date is Wednesday, November 20th. This has taken a lot of pressure off of us. We see the Lord’s guidance and provision in our lives daily. The timing of Andy’s arrival and his need for the gallbladder surgery was amazing. We realize now in hindsight that he has probably been suffering with gallbladder issues for several years now. We just didn’t know what it was and he was pushing through the pain. Although he is still healing we have both noticed his gut health has improved greatly. We appreciated all of the calls, messages of encouragement, and prayers.

So what’s next?

The big news is that a 40 ft. sea container shipment is being loaded at CMTS on Monday, Nov 21st for Belize! This is so exciting for us as it will provide many necessary supplies and tools for ministry. This is the first shipment of a two part shipping plan. There are items on this container that Mexico will not allow us to transport through their country. Things like extra tires, batteries, and used clothing. We are planning to have a driving team bring more goods in the New Year. We are still actively raising funds for the shipments and we are very grateful to those of you who have given to the project. The sea container is projected to arrive in Belize sometime around Dec 9th.. Please cover this project with your prayers. That exactly what is needed gets loaded and that the container reaches us safely. Pray that the duty fees will be reasonable and for the Lord’s supply of funding.

Tropical storm Sara is dumping a lot of rain on ground that is already saturated. I am sure there is flooding and wind damage. Pray for safety for our friends and neighbors. Hopefully our chickens and farm animals ride out the storm safely too! Please pray for my readjustment, especially to the heat. I have been gone for 10 weeks. I am getting around well on my new hip but have some lower back pain when standing on my feet. Both of us get tired easily, so we will have to pace ourselves until we are fully recovered.

I originally came to PA to help Christin & Cory with the boys as they prepared for birth of their fifth child. Little Vivian is a delightful baby. I am so glad I was able to spend that time with them, so I have included some family pictures for you. I am also grateful for the time I got with all of my grandchildren and the rest of the family. It is always hard to say Goodbye.

The Lord is good and we are blessed beyond measure. May you too experience the Lord’s Blessings. Nancy Merrick
