Equip Update

This month, a team of about 18 people including the students went on a mission trip to Georgia. They served with the Georgia Missions Ministry working on a mission home. The vision for this home is to, “provide a much-needed home base for Georgia Missions Ministry and its director, Missionary Annette E. Smith,” as well as fulfill the need for the ministry’s day-to-day operations such as office work, storage, outreach, planning, and meetings. They plan for the home to serve the local community by providing them with needs such as food and the gospel, while also creating an environment for mentors and mentees to grow spiritually.

The students will also be going on a mission trip to Georgia, along with the Smith family, Sandra DaMore and her fiancee Wyatt, and volunteers from other ministries in the area. They plan to finish building the interior of a home for a missionary in the so that they can equip men, women, and youth in the Glennville area. This will hopefully be the first of many other public mission trips that CMTS hopes to host in the future.

Around the Ministry in Bernville, PA

Nick VanWert and Sam Adams have seen an increase in vehicle donations. This has been a blessing for the ministry this year. If you are planning to replace your vehicle, please consider donating your old one to CMTS. In the Auto Body Shop, Doug Sylva has enjoyed working with the students and discipling them. They have shown spiritual growth, as witnessed by the vocation managers. Hilda Sylva says they’re hard-working and that she loves having spiritual conversations with them. She has been serving the ministry recently by keeping the grounds looking beautiful, even in the cold weather months.

The Warehouse has been sorting through a large donation of tools by a ministry supporter. We are excited for how these tools will be used to bless others as well. Justin Darnell and Johnny Debkowski have been working with the volunteers to continue organizing everything in the warehouse. Justin shared an encouraging story about how one CMTS staff member asked for items for their family’s ministry in an elderly home. They asked the volunteers to put some things together, and everything they packed was exactly what they needed. The people in the home were encouraged and uplifted, encouraging us in turn.

We are still accepting donations for the Winter Clothing Drive. It will be running until February 29th, and we are looking for things like hats, gloves, socks, underwear, coats, long-sleeved shirts, pants, etc. If you have anything to donate, please bring it to the CMTS Front Office and put it in the marked bin. Ray and Debbie Pete returned from a trip to help pack boxes for Operation Christmas Child. Some of the items that Debbie used for their local Christmas boxes were from the warehouse. They were excited to share about how God is working in OCC and using CMTS to help.

February 22nd is the annual CMTS Banquet. Seats are $20/person and can be reserved by going to cmtsministries.com and using the button on the front page, or by sending a check to CMTS Ministries with a note including names of the people attending and contact information. We hope to see you there!
