Donovan’s Diaries | Issue 13 | April 2025

Howdy,

Well, here we are again. I have barely been back for 2 months and you are already asking me questions about, How is CMTS, What does your future look like, What are some projects you are working on, a man cannot rest around here. However we all know I can yap forever and I want to share what God is doing in my life month by month.

Fundraiser

March 7th was my first official day on staff and it was more than exciting, CMTS had their first fundraiser and I was able to be a part of it on my first day. We had a few different ministries that CMTS has worked with in the past at this event; they were able to share about their ministry as well as how they have worked with CMTS. We also featured food from all around the world, and experienced cultures from around the world coming together in one place for the purpose of raising finances to do the will of God in our appointed places with our appointed gifts. Praise God, the event went well, and CMTS raised upwards of $31,000!

Warehouse

Over the last month, we have been building a chicken coop for one of our staff families which for me has been a fun throwback to when I was in New York doing mostly carpentry work. On March 24th, we received a donation to the CMTS Warehouse Distribution Center including a pallet of Bazooka bubble gum, a pallet of Quaker Oats, and multiple pallets of cleaning supplies. When we are not receiving or giving out donations, we have been sorting through some of our stock to see what is good to keep and what should be thrown out.

Mission Trip

From April 1st to 9th, half of our staff (Nolan, Jenny, Justin, Hannah, and the Equip students) went to the YWAM base in Monterrey, Mexico, to do evangelism and to build a house for a family in poverty. During this time, I had the opportunity to run the Warehouse and fulfill other roles within the ministry such as working with Righteous Rides. Righteous Rides is the ministry that we partner with in order to provide vehicles for missionaries while they spend time in the states before returning to their specific mission field. I got the chance to send out 2 vehicles and receive a returning vehicle. Hearing stories from people living in different cultures and sharing the gospel there was a blessing. God is working in more ways than we can know!

My Life

I am fully moved into CMTS and living on campus full time which has been a worthwhile transition. I have been experimenting with “cooking” for myself and while the process has been about as close to a college kid burning waffles as you can get, the results have been so far so good. I am getting back into reading, hoping to finish my “library” by the end of the summer. I am becoming more and more consistent with using the CMTS gym which is one of my favorite pastimes and has been a lifestyle over the last 4 years.

Prayer Requests

Oftentimes we see prayer as “All I can do is pray” but prayer is powerful, we are talking to our Creator on behalf of our thoughts, aligning our heart to His, and asking to see His will be done. Here are a few of my prayer requests for this month and moving forward:

  • Finances
  • Favor as I am applying for health insurance
  • Courage and wisdom to be in constant outreach
  • Discernment towards my future

Praises

  • The night before the donation run and into the morning of, I was struggling to sleep and felt called to pray for provision.
  • I am fully moved in and I got enough support from last month to continue working and living here.
  • The Mexico trip was used to bless many people in many different ways.
  • God is communicating with each and every one of us!

Thank you

Thank you all for supporting with prayer and finances! If any of you feel called, all donations are tax-deductible and can be made out and mailed to CMTS (1119 N Boundary Rd, Bernville, PA 19506) with a separate note specifying the donation is for myself (Donovan Checket).

This will be the last newsletter that is sent out, from now on they will only be available on the CMTS website!

See y’all around,

Donny
