Equip Update
For Equip staff, July was spent preparing for the new students. Four days before the deadline, we received an email with a fourth application from a student in Colorado. We were very excited to get the number rounded out, and look forward to meeting everyone soon. Of the students, one is from Bethel, PA, and the rest are out of state: New York, Colorado, and Michigan. This means that the website is working! Thanks to a Christian nonprofit, Christ Link, we have expanded the area of students reached so more people can hear about Equip. If you haven’t visited the website, now is a great time to start looking at it. We will soon be sharing photos of the new students and ask that you pray for them as they begin this new step in their lives.
Around the Ministry in Bernville, PA
In the Automotive Shop, Nick VanWert has been working with Sam Adams to prepare the front room to become an office. A workgroup visited for a week and spent a day painting the room for them. Nick also mentioned that as he sold former fleet vehicles, he saw many people that had previously known each other meet again after many years. Doug Sylva in the Auto Body Shop fixed a rust issue on one of the yard trucks, and is now working with Chris Merrick to repair a box truck that Chris will use for local churches, ministries, and missionaries. He and Hilda will also be having a visitor from Holland; he will be a 9-week intern splitting his time around the ministry, similar to the Equip students.
Justin Darnell helped prepare a shipment to Belize that left on July 4th and arrived there 15 days later. Pastor Situma arrived from Kenya in late July; he has been working with Johnny Debkowski and Justin to prepare a shipment. Situma still needs $15,000 to fund his shipment, as well as prayer. If you’re interested in donating to help him reach his goal, please contact the Front Office. The Warehouse has also had an average of 5 ministries/week picking up supplies.
Ray Pete was able to start working on the walk-in fridge & freezer, a 20-year project finally making progress! He talked with an HVAC company who is willing to come work on it with him, but cannot until he gets more employees. The septic is almost done as well. Jim Mack, the man working with Ray to get the septic fixed, was able to find topsoil and they have been digging for the tanks. We still need $14,000 for the final payment; if you’re interested in donating, you can do so online or by mailing a check.
Bernville is still in need of a chef. We would love to have people volunteering for a day or two in the kitchen. We also need a mechanic, warehouse workers or volunteers, office help, workgroups, teachers, etc. To learn more, contact the office at info@cmtsministries.com.
Belize
Andy Merrick was in the States for a few days, preparing for the shipment to Belize. He and a convoy of 6 other vehicles made it to the CMTS Belize location after 15 days of driving and working with customs. One item taken was a tower for a Christian radio station so that the Word of God can be further spread. They also blessed 20 households with care packages from other items in the shipment.
