Merry Christmas and happy holidays! Me and the Boys are about to finish our first semester here at Equip. Time flies when having fun! For the month of November I was “stuck” with Nick VanWert in the Auto Shop working on various cars, one being my mom’s. Caleb, one of the Equip guys is interning with Nick so I got to spend time with him too. Now I’m with Mike and Ray in Maintenance.
We also packed a forty foot sea container for Belize. Andy and Nancy Merrick the OG directors of CMTS are missionaries down there. Later that same week we helped pack another container for a missionary from Ghana, Douglas Yeboah, for his technical school he is starting. It was cool to see how the whole mission came together and worked as a team to pack both containers. It was also cool to see and help with the organizing and to pack knowing that this stuff was going to help those who need them, to know that it gave someone an opportunity to share the Gospel to those who haven’t heard it.
Last week we had Thanksgiving break; me, Isaac, and Aidan went to my mom’s cousin’s house for Thanksgiving. They spent the weekend at my house, and we had a blast doing fun stuff like going to Dick’s Sporting Goods and using their free weights to work out, then ran some errands for my mom. I have been blessed to have been here at Equip and to have gotten to know these two superb gentlemen.
This week we are having a gingerbread competition where we, Boys are teamed up against each other to make the best looking and best tasting gingerbread structure that will go under fierce criticism from the judges.(Me and Caleb are going to win)
In mine and Isaac’s class we are about to finish a course we started by Francis Chan called Crazy Love. This book has challenged me to live a more obsessed life for Jesus and to focus on eternity rather than on the things of this world. It also challenged me to live to the fullest and not a lukewarm life. (Revelation 3:16) We are also going through the Bible with Pastor John (Nick’s father-in-law). And on Thursday nights, we finished a class on Relevance in Genesis by Ken Ham, with Kyle Moyer.
Again many thanks for all those who have supported me on my journey to get here to Equip. May you all have a blessed Christmas season.
In this together, Sam
1 Thessalonians 5:9-11, “For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 who died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep we might live with him. 11 Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.”
