Smith Family Newsletter | July 2022

Mission Work

This month was the start of Equip! Our 4 students moved in and have started spiritual and vocational training. There have been some challenges, but God has been there guiding us and He has made this start up smoother than expected!

We held a supporter appreciation dinner this month as well. Thank you to all who came out and celebrated all your hard work with us!

Home Life

Joel and I went kayaking for another date day.

We played putt-putt golf as a family and then ate ice cream at Heisler’s, a local ice cream place near us. We celebrated Parker’s 9th Birthday! We also celebrated the fourth of July as a community at CMTS and also with extended family for a picnic!

Parker had poison ivy so bad, she had to get medicine from the doctor. When we told the doctor how she got into poison, we told her that Parker likes to take a short cut to her friend’s house through a wooded patch. Well, the doctor came back in laughing. Parker had to be put on the same medicine this exact time last year too for the same reason! HA HA HA She really does love her friend, her short cuts, and the woods. LOL She is totally healed up and doing fine!

Homeschool Corner

Not much is happening for the kids in July for school work. Plenty is happening for me! LOL This is the time I wrap up the new school year curriculum and lesson plans. I also start to organize the school areas for the new year, so we can start out fresh. We do things a little different each year as the kids grow and their schooling is more demanding. We had to grow our library as Kylie had read 125 books for the last school year! Science experiments are getting messier and more complex and things just change. So, our school area must adapt to meet the new needs. This is my (Danielle’s) big month to get really prepared for the new year. We start end of August! Woo hoo!!

Prayer Requests

  • Support, we are still not fully supported and are actively raising support.
  • Housing, CMTS is looking into building more housing and one will be for us. We are living in a small apartment above the office currently. With 8 people, it can get a little tight! LOL
  • Homeschool, that is an ever going prayer
  • Guidance, wisdom, and discernment as God leads us as we lead the ministry.

Family Needs

Support

We are currently at $775 monthly and where we need to be is $3,570. It has been by the grace and provision by God that we are making it. We could really use your help. Prayers and awareness of this need to others is much appreciated!

Here is further breakdown in each category:

Retirement: We are saving up to retire one day and being a good steward with our time in the future.

Misc.: Savings for emergencies and medical expenses like braces and casts. Education and field trips. Fun days with the kids as a family out, date nights with Joel & I (Danielle), and saving each month for vacations.

Transportation: gas, car insurance, maintenance, and repairs.

Living expenses: electricity, propane, internet, cell phones, clothing, food, and household items.

Would you like to join our team? We need your help to continue to accomplish God’s vision for us at the ministry. Would you join us as a monthly supporter so we can continue the work God has started? We want to take you along for the journey and we would be honored to be able to share the experience with you. You would become part of the team and we would share how God is working and the impact it is having on His Kingdom. Please pray and ask God if you should join us.
