Hello everyone! I hope you have all been enjoying the cold snowy weather! Hot chocolate, and tea pairs so well with days like these 🙂Â
There was a particularly cold morning I was driving to work that was -10 degrees outside! It was that morning that I saw the frozen creek with snowy trees beside it, everything looked still and peaceful as I drove by. I just thought of how beautiful winter is and how thankful I am for the seasons we have!Â
January 2nd was our first day open of the year 2025. Having a break from the normal routine of things was more restful than I thought it would be. I got to focus my time on deep cleaning the kitchen while we weren’t feeding people every day. So it was a nice break that wasn’t to short or long! The EQUIP students came back Monday, January 6th. We definitely missed having them around! Things were naturally quieter which isn’t a bad thing, you just know something is missing.Â
This month has been more of a quiet month that has been spent preparing for upcoming events, work groups, missions trips, and shipments.Â
Fundraiser!
We are so excited for the Food Fest March 7th! We will be celebrating just a few of the places that have been impacted by CMTS. Our God is so good and big! He is so generous to us and has made it possible for our ministry to help so many other ministries. There will be classic dishes from Pennsylvania, Michigan, Canada, Mexico, India, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic. We will also be raffling off baskets, and have a silent auction for some of the bigger items. It’s going to be a great night and we would love to have you join us! Tickets are $20 each and the event is from 6pm to 9pm. More information can be found on our website!
Work Groups!
We already have three workgroups on the schedule for this year! Two of those groups will be here for one week and the third is a school coming for the day. We are super excited to have these people here along with the other potential groups that will come. This specific part of CMTS has been growing! This means there’s more people with the desire to serve, more people that will be exposed to missions, and more people we will get to encourage! This is so exciting!!!!
Mayreau!
We have had a couple meetings to plan lessons, crafts, and games for the children there. We have some good ideas of what we want to do, we just need to narrow them down. We will have four full days there which isn’t long, but that just means we’ll use our time wisely during the day and in the evenings! This is because of the time it takes to get there and back. Wyatt and I are so excited! We’re so thankful for the opportunity to help them. Whether that’s by working on houses, or spending time with the children and their parents. If you think about it, please pray for our team! John 13:35 says “By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”. This is what I am praying for specifically for this trip. The culture there is very different from ours, in that all the children learn about Jesus in school. The culture is very Christianized already but only in knowing “about” the Bible. They don’t really know God in relationship. So my prayer for our team has been that the character of God would be put on display in the way we love the people around us. Pray for all the people there that we will meet and talk to! Pray for the YWAM staff hosting us that we would be able to encourage them! And if you feel led to help Wyatt and I go we still need to raise $1,300. You can do that by mailing a check with an attached note stating who it’s for, or by going on our website. Thank you so much for partnering with us financially and in your prayers!
Shipments!
We are preparing to ship to Kenya February 14th! This shipment is going to Situma who has a Bible college and is in the process of starting a medical facility to help those in need.
Apartment Update!
The engineering company we hired got in touch with the township! Their goal was to ask and make sure it is ok to get the permitting we want for the building. They wanted to make sure it was not going to be shut down before they started spending the money to get the permitting we need. So this is another step in the right direction!
Thank you all so much for your support! Whether that’s through prayer or financially. We are so thankful for you all!
Would you join Sandra as a monthly supporter so she can continue the work God has started? She would be honored to be able to share the experience with you and make you part of the team. As she shares how God is working and the impact she is having on His Kingdom, please pray and ask God if you should partner with her as a monthly donor/supporter.
