Equip Classes & Vocations

Equip students are offered a variety of Bible classes and life-skills classes 3 days per week. We believe that the spiritual growth of our students is the highest priority. While Equip is a non-accredited gap year program, we take these classes seriously and believe they are a benefit to each student. Classes are taught on a rotating schedule by youth leaders, pastors, and other strong spiritual leader volunteers.

CMTS Ministries has been operating since 1981, offering vehicle repairs and physical materials to missionaries and ministries worldwide. The four vocations available while in Equip, Autobody, Automotive, Maintenace, and Warehouse, will allow students to develop and hone their skills while serving Christ with their work.

Autobody Shop

  • Operate buffer, steamer, and vacuums
  • Clean headlights
  • Clean interior and exerior of vehicle
  • Inventory supplies needed
  • Inspect vehicles for damage
  • Spray paint vehicles
  • Use body filler and fix dents
  • Replace fixtures (door handles, etc.)
  • Remove rust from cars
    Buff and wax cars to remove scratches

Automotive Shop

  • Oil changes
  • Tire changes
  • Tire patch/repair
  • Brakes repair
  • Understand Basic Combustion Engine
  • Learn tool names
  • Learn uses for tools
  • Open car with keys locked inside
  • Focus in a noisy environment
  • Diagnose and solve a problem quickly and accurately

Maintenance

  • Use power tools safely
  • Basic plumbing skills
  • Basic electrical skills
  • House painting
  • Search for projects on the internet
  • Landscaping basics (mowing, etc.)
  • Snow plowing
  • Operate backhoe
  • Basic carpentry skills
  • Operate smaller machinery

Warehouse

  • Forklift certification
  • Operate skid loader safely
  • Warehouse safety
  • Safely and properly lift heavy items
  • Operate pallet jack
  • Wrap and stack pallets
  • Inventory and manifest materials
  • Operate hand truck
  • Load and strap a truck
  • Plan and design a work area
