Lapp Newsletter | October 2023

Hello Everyone,

I hope that everyone is doing well. I just wanted to thank everyone for your prayers and support as we do our best to serve the Lord here at CMTS in Bernville. We have a new group of students now since my last newsletter. Our students are Caleb, Aidan, Donovan, and Logan, and our bonus visitor Jesse. We are so blessed to have these guys here with us for the Equip program.

I guess I will start by telling you a little bit about each of our students. Caleb is from New York. He has a love for old vehicles, working on them in the shop, and the Lord. I feel like if CMTS was a person it would be Caleb. He knows so much about vehicles, the other guys sometimes refer to him as some sort of car encyclopedia.

Aidan is from Michigan and is so eager to work and help. We had been working on the roof here at the main building at the mission and he was the first to be up on the roof (with a harness of course). But seeing his servant attitude and willingness to try and do anything asked of him is really great to see.

Donovan is from Bethel, PA, which makes him our most local student. Donny has an obvious love for the Lord. He is always looking for a way to help someone out or give an encouraging word.

Logan is from Colorado, and enjoys video games, as well as role-player board games. He also is into poetry and the outdoors. His parents were missionaries to China, so he also has a lot of fun and interesting stories about that.

Last but not least is Jesse. Jesse has been with us for the last two months and came for a portion of the Equip year as part of his study abroad program. He is a light in our group and is such an encouragement to everyone here at CMTS. He is heading back to Holland in a week and he will be dearly missed.

So much has happened already this year since the students have arrived. We have had a work trip at a Christian summer camp, we have packed containers of food and supplies to go to other countries, and we even finished a huge roofing project here at the mission. All the good things that happen here at CMTS are a direct result of your prayers and support so I want to thank every person who helps us or supports us in any way no matter how small it may seem.

I just ask you to continue to pray for me as I grow into my position here at CMTS. Pray that I would seek after the Lord earnestly and for the wisdom that is needed everyday in how to best lead the students as we all seek to follow Jesus. If you would continue to pray for Jenny as she has a lot on her plate as well between helping me here, at her own job, and she does so much to just keep our lives running smoothly that I don’t know how I could get anything done without her. Also if you would pray for our students as they go through this year and that God would use this place to help them grow in the things of God while they are here. Thank you everyone for making this possible through your support.

All God’s Blessings,

Nolan and Jenny Lapp
