Abigail’s Articles | September 2026

Hello!!

Welcome to what has become one of my favorite places on earth, CMTS Ministries. Nestled among the beautiful mountains of Southeastern PA, our whole purpose is serving missionaries and ministries. From the warehouse to the auto shop the ministry revolves around serving and equipping those who serve Christ in full-time ministry.

How did I end up here? It all started at church when our hospitality manager Sandra and her husband spoke about their recent missions trip to Mexico. I remember paying attention but not really thinking much of it. God, however, wasn’t about to waste the opportunity because when it came time to decide what I was doing with my summer CMTS came to mind. One visit and an interview later I was interning in hospitality and the office and loving every moment of it. It quickly became clear that I wasn’t leaving at the end of the summer, and that becoming a member of staff was the next step. So, here I am happy as a clam where God wants me. Walking in the path Christ wants is not always easy but this has been an easy decision.

Currently I work part time as before I began my internship I had already accepted a postion as a teachers’ aid twice a week. At CMTS, I work both in Hospitality and in the Front Office and, man, are they different 😆. Hospitality has me cooking lunch and cleaning all our shared public spaces. Let me tell you there is nothing better than working with my hands for my mental health. College can kiss me goodbye! Equally important though is the work I do in the office with Hannah, which consists of processing auto shop payments, car donations, and invoices. I even helped fill a shipping container headed for Belize over the summer.

I have found a place in ministry–serving missionaries and as such I need your support through your prayers first and your donations if you feel led. Like any other ministry we run because of donations, so my work depends on the generosity of donors. I have always felt that those in ministry are underserved, and this is my opportunity to change that. And your opportunity to join me in this service whether finically or in prayer.

“May the GOD of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of tthe Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.”

Romans 15:13

Quote of the month

Turn God’s wrath into mere enlightened disapproval, and you also turn His love into mere humanitarianism.

The “consuming fire” and the “perfect beauty” both vanish. C.S. Lewis

Thought from the month

This month saw me reading in 2nd Samuel, which let me tell you is not for the faint of heart. I have always been a justice oriented person but reading chapter 21 had me questioning what true justice looks like. When the rubber meets the road justice has drastic consequences that I am not sure I like.

My Agenda

Due to many volunteer absences Sandra and I cooked a lot this summer. We also continued to work on a house we are renovating for staff. One Wednesday saw me stripping the paint off cabinets in desperate need of a refresh. Near the end of the month we also packed away over two hundered pounds of beef that was donated.

In the office I helped with our weekly deposits and inputting invoices for the auto shop. I also spent time perfecting my CANVA skills so I can design promotional material. It was quite the sanctifying experience. I also helped process several vehicle donations that will bless missionaries soon.

Highlights
  • Return to Friday night Bible studie at the Darnells after a month long break
  • Morning meetings are on of my favorite times of the week. Game day is Wednesday and this past week my table won Catchphrase
  • I was out of the house a lot this month with many different things. I am so thankful for people to do things with!
Thankfuls

I am thankful that God continues to meet me where I am. His goodness and grace are truly overwhelming. He has provided me with a loving community that continues to draw me closer to Him. This spring had me questioning whether God was truly good and now each day I see a reason to repent of my doubt. He was faithful even when I wanted to walk away. Hard times will come again but my hope is in Him.

Prayer Requests
  • Pray for wisdom as I continue down the path God has laid out for me
  • Pray that through me God would be glorified and His character would be revealed
  • Pray that CMTS would continue to prosper so that we can better serve our community
Theme Verse

Vengeance is mine, and recompense, for the time when their foot shall slip;for the day of their calamity is at hand, and their doom comes swiftly.

Deuteronomy 32:25

I wanted to share this picture I took a few months ago of these two vultures who were soaring for hours.
