Mechler Minute

Let’s do it again. I’m back to bring you guys up to date with what’s going on in Sam Mechler’s life.

Media

The past month has been pretty good. I am continuing to work on my video project for our warehouse. I also had the opportunity to create a video of CMTS’s grounds and facilities for a missions conference this past weekend. I am also helping put sellable items on the Facebook marketplace to help the mission make a few extra bucks.

Warehouse

In the warehouse I’ve been helping organize and go on donation runs. About the time I started, the warehouse was running low on hygiene products and laundry detergent and we were praying for a donation of those stuff. The hygiene and laundry products are the most needed items missionaries and local ministries seek, and we were out of them. We as a ministry prayed for a donation of these products and within a week we were donated several pallets of laundry, cleaning and hygiene products. The shelves in the warehouse are now overflowing with laundry detergent and hygiene products. Praise the LORD! It was an amazing way to start being a missionary. Also by the end of this month we will be packing a shipping container  bound for Kenya. We have been trying to ship to Kenya for the last four years but kept running into hiccups. The pastor down in Kenya is very excited for the container and his congregation is also excited for the supplies. Packing this container is not going to be an easy task, it’s gonna take all hands on deck and a lot of preparations.

Spiritual

To be honest this is where I am struggling the most. I am having the hardest time getting up early enough to do my daily devotions and be consistent with it. I also have been struggling with past sins that seem to be constantly in my face. I’m thankful for a wonderful home church full of Godly men and women who are encouraging to me. Here at CMTS I am also surrounded by wonderful people who keep challenging me to grow. Monday evenings I am taking a class at a local church on who Christ is and how He affects our everyday lives.

Personal

Well I’m not sure if I should share this quite yet, but there has been a major change in my life and I am excited to begin this new chapter of life. This past weekend I proposed to my girlfriend and we are now engaged. I am thrilled to be a part of her family and to build a future together. This is not going to be an easy road of getting ready and preparing invitations and finding the right venue and all that entails, but I couldn’t imagine doing it with someone else. Me and Kira have been dating over eight months and neither of the parents had met until last week, which I thought was about time. They finally met last Sunday and I do believe that it went well.

Prayer

As I close I would like to ask for your prayer in these areas of my life. Please pray that I can use my skills in media to help reach and share what we are doing here at CMTS. Pray that this overseas container for Kenya is packed without any injuries and delays. Pray that it gets to Kenya without any delays and that the people who are to receive these stuff feel His love for them and that it impacts them. Keep praying for my spiritual life as I continue to work and serve. I also ask that you pray for my relationship with my fiance and her family as we work through wedding planning. Pray that we grow as a couple and bring glory to God.

Thank you guys for your support and prayers for me and my work.

In This Together,

Sam Mechler.
