Klingman Family Newsletter | October 2026 | CMTS Texas

Dear Family and Friends,

We are Kiel and Melissa Klingman and we have 5 beautiful children, Kaylie (18), Kaleb (16), Morgan (14), Emberlyn “Emmie” (8), and Eliana “Ellie” (2). We are very excited to share that our family has been called to serve as the Base Directors for Christian Missionary Technical Services (CMTS) Texas in Sullivan City! This is the next step in an amazing journey that has been unfolding over the past four years. During this season, we have spent much time praying, seeking God’s direction, and learning to listen for where He might lead us. Through open and closed doors, along with seasons of pruning and growth, God has been preparing our hearts for a new way to serve Him together as a family.

As we considered what might be next, we desired an opportunity that would bring together our family’s heart for discipleship and community, as well as our spiritual gifts, practical skills and experience God has developed in us over the years. When we learned about the opportunity to establish a CMTS base in Texas, we felt the Holy Spirit stirring us to learn more. Through prayer, discernment, and conversations as a family, it became clearer that we should pursue this opportunity.

What began as a sense of calling developed into clarity on how we could serve and be on mission with Christ in a practical way. We are stepping into this next chapter with gratitude, humility, and faith, trusting that God will continue to guide us as we learn, serve and grow. We know that prayer and faith will be our guide and foundation in this new role.

Philippians 2:3-4

“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.”

The Mission

The mission of CMTS is to equip those who are serving God so they can be more effective, glorify God by joyfully making disciples, and impact communities through service and opportunities for missions. Jesus gave us the ultimate example of being a servant and has called us to do the same, and that is the heart of CMTS.

CMTS meets their goal of serving & equipping those who serve Christ by offering a variety of ministries to missionaries, pastors, and other ministries.

  • “We keep missionaires moving” – Through the Auto Shops, we offer low-cost car repairs
  • “We put resources where they are needed” – Warehouse meets the needs of expensive cleaning supplies, personal hygiene, and much more. CMTS is able to get ministries what they need to effectively share the gospel.
  • “We mobilize people to serve”

The purpose and vision of building a CMTS base in Texas is to duplicate and expand the Kingdom’s impact locally and worldwide by encouraging, building up, training, serving alongside, and spurring on another region of the US, as well as creating low cost opportunities for frequent shipping of tangible items that will further the spread of the Gospel to these local areas.

As Directors of CMTS Texas, we will be focused on building, discipling and growing a team of faithful servants. We will also be working toward establishing and improving the practical operations and facilities that fulfill and support the good work being done. Providing vocational opportunities and training for those being called into ministry, as well as uniting believers, ministries, and churches in common purpose is another of our focal points.

Ephesians 4:11-12

“So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.”

The mission of CMTS and the opportunity of planting a base in Texas aligns with the gifts that Jesus has given us and the desires of our hearts, to co-labor with Christ on His mission to redeem all of creation back to himself. We have a heart of discipleship and service, and a longing to see believers develop in their relationship with Jesus and united together, utilizing their giftings to see the Gospel spread to the ends of the earth.

Matthew 28:18-20

“Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’”

Where We Are Today

Colossians 1:19-20

‘For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.’

We are close to securing a property for the Texas base. There is a ministry holding a proposed property for the Texas base. The property has the infrastructure for the key operations, including a building that can be used for administration and a 5,000 sq ft warehouse. There is also a building that will function as an automotive operation, that includes exit and entry overhead doors and is large enough to outfit with two car lifts. All the buildings have solid structure, but will need complete renovation.

There is plenty of space for expansion which we hope will include housing, RV hookups, and allow flexibility for God to grow the ministry. We need to raise $60,000 for the down payment so we can start using the property. The total price of the property is $190,000. Donations have started to come in, but we have a long way to go! You can see how much has been raised so far by going to the CMTS Texas page on the website. You’ll also be able to make a donation toward the down payment there.

We have connected with several local ministries and churches who are excited to partner with us. Several people have showed interest in the CMTS Texas base plant. We are still seeking who will be joining our team locally in Texas. Perhaps God is calling you to join us in this amazing opportunity to live by faith and serve Him!

What Lies Ahead

What’s next for us? We have begun the transition of preparing for the move to South Texas. There is a lot to do here locally for us and we have our house in York to sell and close on our house in Schuylkill Haven, as we only moved to York less than a year ago.

We are starting to build relationships in Texas for fellowship and service, as well as seeking partners for the ministry. We do not know where we will live yet, but we are faithful God has a plan and will provide the right opportunity and setting.

  • Hearts to be prepared in the community and opportunities to serve.

Volunteer: There will be many opportunities to volunteer as we are establishing the base and facilities, as well as local missions.

Support and resources:
Giving financial support and resources to the CMTS Texas ministry: as this is a new plant, financial support is needed to launch the ministry, and resources will be needed for building the operations.
